Hala Matar

Hala Matar is a Bahraini film director.  She recently completed her first feature film, ELECTRA starring Maria Bakalova (Academy Award nominated for Borat 2), Jack Farthing (Spencer), Abigail Cowen (Fate: The Winx) and Daryl Wein (Something from Tiffany’s).

She has directed commercials and branded films for: Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Moncler, Kenzo, Vivienne Westwood, Issy Miyake and Diesel. Notable music videos include Interpol, The Voidz and Poolside. Hala has worked with a variety of talents including: Kristen Stewart, Chloe Sevigny, Johnny Knoxville, Suki Waterhouse, Anton Yelchin and Matthew Gray Gubler.

In addition to directing, she curates art exhibitions for Dries Van Noten’s Los Angeles gallery Little House and has worked with internationally renowned artists including: Martin Creed, Ryan Gander, Madeline Hollander, Gohar World, Peter Shire, Darren Bader and Piero Golia.
